The delegation promotes constructive relations and enhanced cooperation with the South African Parliament. In coordination with the Chair of the Caucus for European Affairs and the Members of South Africa's Parliament, it sets the agenda for the EU-South Africa inter-parliamentary meetings, which take place once per year, alternating between Strasbourg and Cape Town. Topics of common interest, such as human rights, good governance, development cooperation, trade relations, transparency and democracy are regularly discussed by the delegation and its South African counterparts.
