The S&D Group welcomes Denmark’s takeover of the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. For the next six months, Denmark will play a pivotal role – amid challenging times – inadvancing the green and digital transitions, and reinforcing security in a complex global landscape.

We are confident that under this presidency, we will see renewed efforts to push forward key progressive priorities like defending workers’ rights, improving the healthcare system, finding solutions to the rising cost of leaving, accelerating the green and digital transitions, and ensuring no one is left behind.
