S&D Group event: Symposium on the Minimum Wages Directive Court Case

REGISTER NOW TO ATTEND
Symposium on the Minimum Wages Directive Court Case

The Adequate Minimum Wages Directive, adopted in October 2022, was a historic success which had a significant impact on wages in some member states. However, on 14 January 2025, based on Denmark and Sweden’s objections to the Directive, the Advocate General of the European Court of Justice issued an opinion recommending the annulment of the law. If the Court were to follow the recommendation, it would be a major blow to Social Europe with dangerous spill-over effects on other legislative projects. Join our symposium, bringing together legal experts, civil society representatives and members of the S&D Group to discuss the Advocate General’s recommendation. The symposium will also be an opportunity to raise public awareness of the political risks that an annulment of the Directive would entail.

Join us on Thursday 27 March 2025 from 9.30 to 11.30
