Joint debate - Common Fisheries Policy

The Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) covers resource management issues, including control, external policy, market regulation, subsidies, aquaculture and scientific issues.

The new basic regulation will set out the legislative framework of the common fisheries policy from 1 January 2014. It outlines the principles for resource management and allocation of fishing opportunities among member states. This regulation is the centrepiece of the reformed CFP.
