Commissioner-designate for economic and financial affairs, taxation and customs, Pierre Moscovici, gave an “impressive performance” during his hearing today in the European Parliament.
Following his hearing, S&D Group spokesperson on economic and monetary affairs Elisa Ferreira said:
"This was simply the best performance we've seen so far.
“Pierre Moscovici appeared today not only as a convinced pro-European but as a man of vision. He showed that he has a lot of expertise in the field of his future competences.
"Mr Moscovici is fully aware of the challenges ahead and of the responsibilities of the task. We are convinced that with his experience, he is up to the job.
"He responded to multiple attacks by the conservatives against France and the French government with flair and confidence. We are convinced that Pierre Moscovici will be an excellent commissioner."
