To: Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary

Date: 10 September 2015

Dear Prime minister, The European Parliament has voted today a resolution on the migration crisis in the European Union. It has been adopted with the overwhelming support of our three political groups.

As leaders of the political groups supporting the European Commission, we therefore urge you to implement the main elements contained in this Resolution. We ask you in particular to support the proposal by the Commission to share responsibility for the refugees across our Union and moreover establish a permanent system for the future. We cannot wait any longer. We have a moral and historic obligation to act.

The Union cannot afford another failure. We count on your support to ensure that the Council is able to act next week and embrace a global and comprehensive solution. You will find our Resolution in annex.

Your sincerely,

Manfred Weber MEP - Chairman of the EPP Group

Gianni Pittella MEP - President of the S&D Group

Guy Verhofstadt MEP - Leader of the ALDE Group
