Relaunching Europe in Nicosia, Cyprus - Recovery through more European solidarity

On 30 January, Relaunching Europe is bringing the debate to Cyprus and its capital city Nicosia to discuss with you the best ways to restore solidarity between EU member states to avoid further crisis and recover from years of devastating austerity.

What started as a financial crisis in 2008 has rapidly turned into a wide economic, social and political crisis affecting millions of Europeans all across the continent. The harsh austerity measures imposed on us by conservative forces, and notably the Troika, has dramatically undermined the core principles of solidarity and trust that had brought European countries together for decades. The solidarity is now damaged and our economies remain vulnerable.

Is the European project broken? What will it take to restore the solidarity? How can we avoid further crisis? What kind of Europe do we need for a sustainable social and economic recovery?

Come and share your questions and comments with us in Nicosia or online. This is your chance to exchange views with inspirational speakers, leading experts, politicians, representatives of the civil society and citizens just like you.

This evening of discussion will be moderated by Vivian KANARI. Read the full programme of the evening.

Everyone is welcome to this free event. For organisational purposes, we kindly ask that you register for the event.
